Birds along rivers have fascinating adaptations, plumage, calls and foraging strategies. These have enabled them to live in complex land-water transition habitats . During her PhD, Ankita studied patterns of distribution and endemism in river birds globally. She conducted field-surveys spanning different seasons across multiple years, from 2015 to 2019 in the Western Himalaya to understand factors driving habitat selection in specialist river birds.
