Nishma Dahal

I am currently working as a DST -INSPIRE faculty at CSIR- Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. My broad research interest lies in understanding the build-up of Himalayan biodiversity and the response of biota to climatic fluctuations, explore evolutionary history of diverse natural systems, and understand the genetic basis of adaptation. I started my research with small mammal (Pikas) and I have started exploring Himalayan birds to answer questions related to their evolutionary history and adaptation to high-altitude environments. Therefore I view myself as a fresher ornithologist.
