Ramana Athreya

I am an (amateur) birdwatcher and also study birds as an ecologist; though, other taxa form the staple of my research group. My am currently mining a large summer/winter data set of 33000 bird records across a 2600 m elevational transect in Arunachal Pradesh to understand the impact of environment on abundance by studying the profile of the latter across a gradient of the former. I do more work with frogs (elevational population structure), moths (ecosystem stability and elevational population structure) and ants (intraspecific genetic divergence across environmental gradients and distance).
