Kartik Shanker

I am not an ornithologist, but we do study birds. We are interested in the community ecology and behaviour of mixed species groups in general, including birds and reef fish. We have conducted field research on MSGs of birds in Anshi, Karnataka since 2009 through the work of several Masters and Phd students. In addition, we have conducted meta-analyses of global data and theoretical analysis to understand the drivers of flocks formation. We have also worked on the distribution and diversity of birds at macroecological scales.
